CCC Celebrates the Opening of the New Kennedy-King College

Chicago, IL – City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) celebrates the opening of the new Kennedy-King College with a weeklong Community Grand Opening from August 21 through August 26.

“The new Kenned-King College is receiving tremendous reviews from students, staff and community members.  It is very gratifying to all those who worked so hard and diligently to see this dream realized.  The college is a dynamic example of the multi-task mission of the urban community college – to not only provide excellent educational opportunities but to also serve as an anchor for the communities it serves,” stated CCC Chancellor
Wayne D. Watson.

The 40-acre campus, located in the heart of the Englewood community at 6301 S. Halsted St., consists of six state-of-the art buildings for arts & sciences, library, applied sciences, athletics, student services, day care, theater, CCC Center for Distance Learning, WKKC-FM radio, WYCC TV-20 and the Washburne Culinary Institute.  The campus is easily accessible to all by means of a nearby-elevated train.
